BPO Real Estate is becoming a booming business. Some agents are incorporating BPO real estate as a big part of their business. BPO real estate can lead to REO's. I've personally listed about 5 REO homes in the past two months. My advise to agents interested in BPO real estate is to just keep at it, it took me some time. Good Luck

Alex, how long/many BPO's do agents have to complete before they start getting listings from these banks?  Or, does the agent often pick up the property they did the BPO on?  I'm not a real estate agent but the agents I work with couldn't hurt picking up a few REO's.  They just want to supplement, not transform their business?  It would just be another Open House anchor to get real clients.

Alex... On the questionair for my E & O insurance, they asked how many BPOs we did. I assumed this would have something to do with risk, and my premium price. What is your thought?

I have done too many BPO with the listing going to the agent they typically use. I have given up and as long as I can I will avoid it.

Some BPO companies wont give you REOs ever. So if REO is your goal make sure your working for the right companies. My first REO was given to me from RealTrans. I did BPO for them for about 2 year before that happened. Just during the last two months I've gotten 5 new reo listings from them. If I gave up that wouldn't have happened.

If anybody wants to learn more about REOs I would recomment visiting this forum.

http://www.agentsonline.net its packed with REO and BPO information on individual companies. The giants of the reo world live there.

Bpo's do not always turn into reo's, REO is a different business, you have to contact AM's get on their good side and eventually get listings, also getting noticed on sites like http://www.assignreo.com  where AM's search for agents in certain areas.

I can't seem to find a list of REO Asset Managers emails. Anybody know of where I can find one? If I can't find a list I'll have to collect them myself. Anyone interested in getting this list for free, just send me at least one valid email addresse of a REO Asset Manager that you currently are working with or have recently worked with. When I have at least 200 valid email addresses, I will email this list to your email address. Send to joebray99@yahoo.com

JUST STAY AWAY FROM EVALUATION SOLUTIONS TO AVOID NON-PAYMENT OF YOUR BPO's ESPECIALLY NOW THAT GASOLINE IS VERY EXPENSIVE. IT IS NOT WORTH IT TO SPEND ABOUT 3 TO 4 HOURS AND EXPECT A PAYMENT OF $45 WHICH YOU WILL NOT GET.

How is Erika going to handle everyone in every state......would seem like I don't hear about anyone in that accounting department! Still waiting on my April check but did talk to Erika once, surprise her voicemail box is full! Emailed her and someone will get back to me in 5-7 days great!
Slow pay is one thing. I never count on a PRTK check before 60 days but the back and forth stuff to see when you'll be paid is ridiculous!

They call me at least once a week and send a desperate email 2-3 times a week. Love the ignore button on my phone for that reason (I have their numbers programmed into my phone with the name, so I know what to do with the call) and the delete email option also, actually need to set them up for auto-trash bin.

EVALUATION Solutions has no solution on how to pay their agents! Stay away!!!

REO homes are real estate owned homes that are often offered for purchase at a highly competitive rate. These make great opportunities for someone who wants to buy and fix up the properties and use them as an investment property or principle residence.

IAS is a very professional company. They don't eblast their orders. They take care of you and orders and payment are regular like clockwork. I like working with them.

I have just stopped dealing with Evaluation Solutions (Evalonline.com). They are the most un-professional company that I have ever dealt with in my past 3 years of doing BPO's. Even when it comes to getting paid, you have to constanlty send them emails requesting payments for work done some times 3 months prior.... PLEASE use caution in dealing with this compny!

I like LSI, and Freddie hit on an important point: e-blasting orders is a bad move by BPO Providers.

I work in BPO Automation with BPO & REO clients nationwide, and we're finding that the e-blasts inspire a type of unhealthy competition as agents rush to accept as many orders as possible. This has led to in-house development of BPO auto-accept software that will soak up an entire release of orders in minutes on a provider's website, and of course sends competing agents rushing to get their own auto-accept scripts online so they remain competitive in accepting orders.

Our contribution to sanity has been less aggressively-written auto-accept software that transparently logs in periodically to accept orders for an agent without violating the BPO Provider's Terms of Service or security policies, as well as following more strict parameters on what's accepted to ensure that quality BPO's are being taken & not simply accepted and later cancelled...

Most BPO Providers already have a tiered system for assigning many BPO's to "preferred vendors" or agents with a high quality score for past work completed: if this pattern was expanded upon then nobody would need the e-blasts nor the havoc they wreak in the competitive BPO environment online.

Sincerely;

Tim Ventura

I work for several BPO companies and I have never had a problem getting paid. I started working in BPO's 1 year ago and grabbed orders as I could. Yes there are tons of agents trying to work these but you need to jump in there with your best work and prove you are quite capable of providing accurate, high quality and timely orders. I now have the companies reserving orders for me and I often get redo orders where other agents have not completed orders within the requested guidelines. I love working for these companies and I am adding new ones to my list each month to ensure a steady stream of income.

When it comes to getting started in the BPO/REO business there is a lot of good resources online and lots of not so good too. What I can share with you is that when all hell broke loose in 06 and when I couldn't seem to sell a home (I am in Las Vegas and we got hit real hard!) I made a lot of money doing BPO's. In my biggest month I made as much as $5,000 and regularly earned at least $2,000 per month. I knew nothing about BPO but came across this excellent resource:  Reokit.com  It saved my career!

Much success to you!
