Castaway Cove is an ocean to river gated community that was developed in 6 "waves". 3 waves lie between A1A and the river. The other three waves lie between the Ocean and A1A. Many of the homes were built in the 1980's and 1990's. With the newer homes being in the more Northern of the waves. There is a total of about 450 homes in Castaway Cove. Castaway Cove is located just South of the 17th Street bridge and the oceanfront beach is an accreting beach, where the sand accumulates.
