christmas in july

Want to stand out in a crowded marketplace?

Here’s an idea that will accomplish exactly that.  How many Christmas cards to you receive at your home or business between Thanksgiving and New Years?  Lots.  How many do you receive in July?  None.

I tell my clients that when everyone is zigging, you gotta zag.

If you’re a business, consider sending out your holiday cards in July.  I guarantee it will stand out and get noticed. I found this image at www.100christmascards.com as an emailable card.  Contact your printer and customize a version for your business and mail it.  You have the next 4 months to get this done.  Dare to be different.

When everyone is sweating in the summer, anything with a holiday theme will definitely make people smile and leave an impression.

Thanks for your comment Kim.  Just for clarification, the image included in the blog is for illustration purposes only.  Everyone gets the idea.  But create your own (or a printer / graphic designer will do it for you).

You know, I first thought that this is crazy but then I had a minute and it could be the best idea I heard in a long time. We are all trying to stand out. What better way.

Great post

I think this idea is great, if you want to look like you don't pay attention to the calendar :)

Tony - crazy, like a fox.  Thanks for posting.

Josh - if I paid attention to the calendar, I wouldn't feel like I was running late today because of daylight savings time ;)  Thanks for the comment.

i like it, I didn't send cards this year I just ran out of time. (So Busy)

Chris - I have done this and it's a GREAT idea!! People are so busy at Christmas time. I'm afraid my card, smudged with sticky peppermint fingerprints gets stuck between Aunt Edna's Gingerbread recipe and the 10 page Christmas BRAG-a thon-letter that SOME of the relatives send. After Christmas, it all gets tossed with the dried up tree that is hanging on to it's one final needle. Did anyone even read it? Or notice?

NOW...Christmas in JULY!! There is a fun twist. It's 117 degrees out and you get a Christmas card? It's fun, funny and memorable. And who knows...your client may think you're so off your rocker, or suffering mild heat stroke that they actually call to remind you, the absent minded Realtor that "Hey, it's not Christmas!"

Thanks for reminding me of this great idea! I didn't get Christmas cards out this last year...so, IT'S PERFECT TIMING!
