Having an easy to navigate, content rich real estate website is a must. It's as important as a great blog! While some people like the idea of searching our blog articles, many still want the ease of being able to go to a website and search community information as well as current listings available.
I'm often asked who my website designer is for my Naples, Florida real estate website, www.ShannonLefevre.com. Many seem disappointed to learn that I've been maintaining my site personally for years. All is not lost! There are only one of two things you need to build a fabulous real estate website of your own.
If you are computer savvy and have more time on your hands and less cash to spend, I would suggest you give www.ibuilt.com a shot. If you can write content and have the ability to upload pictures. This avenue is much easier than you would ever expect as you are not required to know any of the languages required to build a website but I will caution you. Depending on how big you want your site to be, it can be a tedious and time consuming effort but the payoff is astronomical and will far surpass any of your other advertising efforts.
If you have more money that time or patience, I would encourage you to contact Lu Doan at RBD Studios located in Estero, Florida. They have a great understanding of web design and SEO which does not necessarily go hand in hand as many of us have learned the hard way. Lu is a smart guy. In fact he's one of our fellow Active Rainers. Plus he has excellent real estate knowledge so if you're an agent looking for a personal site or a developer needing a website for a project, I would encourage you to give them a call. They aren't just real estate related either and they're very good so if you're hoping to get something great for not alot of dough, you might want to keep looking. They'll give you something great but you'll have to pay for it. Just like we do with anything of great quality.
