I would like to thank you for the wonderful time my wife and I had at your resort this past weekend.
I received a phone call from someone at the Sheepcot Harbour Village and resort, located in Edgecomb Maine. I was interested by the phone call, you know the one we all receive, come for a free nights stay, listen to what we have to sell, no pushy sales people to bother you. Yeah right!
Well this one was a little different. The women on the phone was very polite. She offered my wife and I a complimentary stay at the resort, complete with cocktail reception, full buffet dinner, guided tour of the community, and complimentary breakfast the following morning.

What was different about this reception than the others, was that they were targeting Realtors. They were looking to let the agents in and around the area know who they were and what they do. So, the reception catered to, and entailed real estate information. Describing all of the aspects of the project, and opportunities for real estate agents and investors. I have to admit, I was very skeptical at first. After sitting through the dinner reception, and learning about Roger Bintliff, and the Sheepscot Harbor Village and Resort, I was truly pleased. No pushy sales people, no information request form. Just nice people, doing great things to promote their business and investment opportunities.
Prices of the condominiums started at $139,000 and ranged all the way up to $650,000 for an estate. They offer a great rental program for the owners of the units to offset the price. When you are not using your unit, they will rent it for you on a nightly basis. Great for investors, corporations looking for a retreat for employees, or families looking for that getaway a couple weeks per year.

Bill, that is an excellent marketing idea! The owners have hit on something and I'm going to pass the idea on to a few local business owners I know. Nice of you to write the post and share their low key approach.
