How Green is the Future? Part 2

This is a follow up on a post I wrote about

 How  Green is the Future?

In the February / March issue of Smart Energy Living - Energy Solutions for Colorado Home Owners, there is an article "Students Scrutinize Family Energy Use." In this short article Pam Packer writes about teacher April Lanotte of Simla High School. This teacher challenger her students to participate in the Smart Energy Livings Home Energy Investigation Contest. The students learn what happens when they use energy from flipping on a light switch to how to read the electric bill. What a practical application for kids saving the planet!

very interesting...the fact the our parents and our peers screwed up does not mean our kids can not be the solution.

Dena I agree this is "a practical application for kids saving the planet", but I would also add the it is a great lesson in finances as well.

Dena - I've gotta tell you - my own kids have been ON us about all sorts of "green" issues lately, including phone books opt-outs to light bulbs, to types of containers things come in - these kids are on it!
