Click to call - step 1

This is a cool widget that you can add to your blog page (or anywhere) for free. It allows anyone to click the button on your page, which sends an instant text message to your cell phone with their contact information. It's a great tool to track where leads are coming from. Here's a quick step-by-step guide:

Step #1: Sign up for free at ClassifiedFlyerAds.com. It's literally a 2-step process and takes less than 5 minutes.

Step #2: Setup your Click-to-Call settings on your profile (choose 'Edit Profile' from left menu bar). Here's where you'll enter the cell phone number you want your Click-to-Call button to call. You'll also need to choose your cell phone provider from the drop down menu (be sure to click the 'Submit' button at the bottom!)

Step #3: Choose your button style. There's 6 different colors:

You'll want to enter a short name for the page you'll place your button on (ie. ActiveRain, My Website Homepage, My Listing Flyer #2, etc.). This description will show up in the text message when someone clicks your button, so you'll be able to see where your getting traffic from.

Step #4: Copy the html code into your blog, website, flyer, or anywhere you want your clients to have access to it. For ActiveRain, go to your 'Settings' area and paste the html right into the 'Blog Description' box. Be sure to press the 'Update' button, and voila!, you're done.

This is a neat and easy little widget that you can post to any of your blogs, listings, or websites. A visitor just clicks the button and a text message is automatically sent to your cell phone with the visitors name and phone number, as well as the page or site the visitor is coming from.

Try this one out below to send me an instant message!

Cell Phone Bill Very cool, Candis.  I'd click your "call me" button but I'll refrain so that I don't run up your cell phone bill!  ;-)

I wonder if this will work with Craigslist when I put ads out there?   I'll try it next week.  Thanks!

I can answer Alans question.  Yes, people use it if Agents place it in their online ads and pages and let people know it's there.  We have one customer that places the call button in his email signature, his website and his blog and receives many calls from his call button.  You are able to track the call from what comes through on your phone and can also access all the call data at anytime from your members area.

We have many members that use it on all of their flyers on online advertisements.

Is there a cost to this?  It could work on your personal site.

Hello Brian - no cost, it's free.  Simply setup an account on ClassifiedFlyerAds.com - login - navigate to the "Create Click-To-Call Widget" menu option.  Yes, you can place it on your personal site.

This is an interesting tool.  I have seen some similar to this and tried them, but have not gotten much activity out of them.  It will be interesting to see how this one works.

Julie - Hope you got some R&R, but seeing as it was Easter weekend, that's probably not the case. Make sure you catch up on your rest this week!

Susan - Those are the 6 color choices, you just pick one of them. From your member main menu, just click on the 'Create click-to-call widget" option. You can create as many as you want.

Nancy - Cute little guy... thanks for the consideration ;)

Alan & Craig - Many agents have responded positively about the "click-to-call" widget. Of course, not every visitor to your site will take advantage of it, but if it makes it easier to contact you for even one person, than it was worth the effort (especially since there is almost no effort involved). The purpose of the widget is to offer convenience to your clients and traffic/lead info to you. Hope that helped.

Deborah & Ryan - I remain curious about so many things especially things I see on the web, so I'm glad I could satiate this one for you both!

Bill & all the others - I wish you the best of luck with this little widget! I'd love to hear back to see what kind of response you get from it.

I actually like www.GrandCentral.com (owned by Google better).  You have to use a phone with the same area code you want to retrieve a specific prefix.  I have one on my webpage at www.SellBonitaSprings.com
