Are You Working With A Realtor®???  It's an important question in the real estate profession.

What's a Realtor®???  All real estate licensees are not the same. Only real estate licensees who are members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® are properly called REALTORS®. They proudly display the REALTOR "®" logo on the business card or other marketing and sales literature. REALTORS® are committed to treat all parties to a transaction honestly. REALTORS® subscribe to a strict code of ethics and are expected to maintain a higher level of knowledge of the process of buying and selling real estate.

It's not that I don't want or appreciate your business.  I really do.  I make Fort Smith Real Estate all about YOU.  But, if you have a Buyer's Agreement with an agent, it's important to gain all the information you can from your REALTOR®.  I am sorry, but you should not call the name on the sign just to get a price.  I am sorry, but you should not enter your contact information into that other agent's website (even if it's false).  REALTORS® are striving to make our profession better for you, but we do need your help to keep it honest!

If you DO NOT have a REALTOR®, I will be more than happy to assist you in making your real estate dreams a reality!  I am very informed about Fort Smith Real Estate, the Fort Smith Real Estate Market, and everything this great area has to offer you.  When looking for a Realtor in this market; you need to be assured that your Realtor knows YOUR market!!!  Looking for Real Estate in the Ft. Smith, AR and River Valley Area.  Remember, "To Buy or Sell'um, Call Ray Nellum!"  479-414-1895

Ray, this is important information for buyers to have.  We often forget that not everyone understands how agency relationships work and this is clear and easy to understand.  Great job!

Thanks for bringing this whole concept out for discussion.  Consumers will benefit more from a monogamous agency relationship (unless their agent is dumb enough not to return their calls).  Honesty truly serves everybody!

Ray- If we did not give "free" information then we would not get so many calls. I bet the same does not happen to attorneys & such. But that is how this industry opporates and in fact the foundation which it is built (prior to buyer agency). But we will forge on to make the public aware, one at a time. Kinda like eating an elephant. BTW Susan Davis - Congrats to your sucess!

Sharon, thank you.  I have found that my clients respect my honesty more-so than anything else.  It's really the best policy.

Susan, agency isn't as tricky if it is explained well to the consumer.  I look forward to you passing with flying colors.  Thank you

Nannette, we've given out so much free information, but at the same time you have to be cautious not to get into a situation like "who is representing who".  It is part of our job to educate our clients, or perspective clients about agency.  Thank you so much.

Melissa, I always appreciate your kind words of encouragement.  Thank you.

There seem to be a lot of consumers out there who don't understand Buyer's Agency and Buyer's Agreements, but we do. The first thing we ask when meeting a new contact is, "Have you signed with an agent?"
