I've read alot here on Active Rain on the subject of Home Staging. There are Real Estate Professionals who promote and are advocates of Home Staging and of course we hear from many Certified Home Stagers themselves who preach about the virtues of a Professionally Staged Home. Well tomorrow is the day for me. I'm taking the Home Staging course offered by Staged Homes.com. I first was intrigued by this phenomenon of Home Staging back in December as I attended a seminar by the Home Staging guru, Barb Schwartz, held at our Tri-State (NJ, NY,Penn) Real Estate convention in Atlantic City, NJ. I really just went to the seminar so that I could find out what this Staging stuff was all about and I found myself upon leaving the session totally convinced that Staging was the future for any successful Real Estate Agent. This will especially be true for me, and my three colleagues who will be attended the course with me, because of the towns that we have focused our attention on - places like Montclair NJ, Glen Ridge NJ, North Caldwell NJ, West Caldwell NJ and Little Falls NJ. I believe by getting our designation (yes, I realize that it's not an approved designation... yet) as an Accredited Staging Professional, we will have a distinct advantage over non-designated agents vying for the same listings. That being said, it is not our intention as agents to start a Home Staging business. We will be enlisting the service of an Accredited Home Stager to do the actual staging. We will strictly be working as Agents with Staging knowledge. Unfortunately I had to wait until March before the Staging course made it to my area in North Jersey, but now I look forward to earning my ASP and adding a new tool to my Real Estate tool-belt.
