I recently read an article about this car sales guy who was ranked very high in his sales ability despite the slow down his competition had.  What was his secret?  He followed up with everyone he met throughout his entire career!  See he put everyone he knew on index cards throughout his career and when things were slow for others he had his entire database of index cards to follow up on.  Now doesn't this sound familiar?  Real estate has also slowed down but is bound to pick up.  If you are a realtor just starting out please make sure you do yourself a favor, even if you are on a budget just write down everyone and make a file system or invest in a good contact management program.  You may want to do what I did and start out with Outlook first and build from their.  Follow up is a key ingredient as you can see for the car sales guy and the same is for real estate so make sure you always have something to fall back on.  Like i read on one blog, real estate has many "water faucets"  so make sure your bucket is out there to catch them so if one dries up you have the other "water fauccet" to rely on !  Thanks and I wish you much success and welcome aboard if your someone just starting.  Please do what i did and embrace the knowledge from your broker and fellow realtors to help you.

Tom,

Sound advice. I truly believe follow ups are the key to success. We may get leads but if we don't pursue to the end results, it is wasted. This is a great story about the salesman and the faucet analogy.

By the way, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my post.
