Often times we take life and the simple things in life for granted.  I am often reminded of the little things that make me smile, such as the mountains and streams of Central Oregon.  Lately I have been reminded just how lucky I am to have a husband that truly loves me and cares about me.

Mike fell off the bed of his semi on February 13th and has been in a chair ever since the 15th.  With a rod in his leg, 4 plates and 36 screws holding his leg and ankle together I am reminded of how lucky I am.

Mike may be home for good now, this very well is an injury that could force an early retirement.  I can just see the VISA bill going up with fishing and hunting gear.  He is dreaming of new careers and spending a lot of time watching television.  I tried to teach him to blog, but he got lost at turning on the computer.

My point here is - be thankful, be gracious and love each-other.  We were lucky it is just a leg - none of us know what tomorrow will bring.  Make the most of today and plan for tomorrow.  Enjoy being able to get your own cup of coffee, you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Mike and I find out if a bone graph is necessary in about 3 weeks - so keep him in your thoughts -

Ok.... now you have all seen the most current photo without glasses

Thesa, enjoy your time w/ your husband! You're perspective is wonderful and hopefully you can hold on to that when you open that Visa bill ;-)

It's times like this that you really do have to count your blessings.  It's good that he'll be able to do some of the things he's been wanting to do.  I hope he heals well.

Thesa~You and your hubby are in my prayers. I'm so sorry that this happened and thankfully, as you said, it's not worse, but that is tough and painful.  Both my father and step-dad were drivers and I don't think people realize how very difficult that is on a body. I pray that your hubby will find himself casting out his fishing line many times over and you both with the peace and happiness you so deserve.

Thesa, please tell your hubby that I hope he feels much better very soon and that if he runs up the Visa for fishing gear he should make certain to catch alot of fish!

Thesa - I haven been thinking about you and Mike alot lately and the two of you have been in my prayers. New career, huh?  With all the new fishing and hunting equipment, sounds like he could be a local tour guide showing all the outer stater's the local "hot spots" for fish and game.

What a shame to hear about your hubby's accident.  Providing he has a fast healing, maybe there will be a golden side to the experience.  Travel, new hobbies?  Sounds good to me.

Thesa - I hope and pray he has a speedy recovery.  I am sure it is difficult for someone with such a fast paced occupation.  My son had a bad injury and broke the large bone in his leg in 3 places, and broke his ankle bone off (opposite side of his leg) and he had metal plate and screws.  He is doing well, but still in pain when he walks so much or in the cold.  It takes some time.

Thesa... There are plenty of careers and activities to occupy time.  I have a cousin in early retirement with rods in his back but when I'm in Maine he keeps me busy.  Last year since I was running he took an interest in the wheel chair racers and he's always off on some fishing adventure.  Hope Mike can easily adjust to his new lifestyle.

Thesa - I trust your hubby will have a speedy recovery - thanks for the update on him, I've been wondering how he is doing.  My hubby was forced into an early retirement - things were good for a few years and then those Visa bills started getting higher and higher!  Watch it...they eventually have to be paid off.  How about if he helps you with your real estate?  He could do non-computer related items - like check on your listings, hang signs, be a go-fer!

Thesa, we are on the same page as our post go.  I was just at a neighbor's funeral today and it just really brought home that we need to make the most of each day God gives us as we never know what is in store for tomorrow.

Thesa,

I'm taking some time to read blogs and I love yours. In todays society everyones schedule is so rushed, so much to do with so little time. We seem to take the people in our everyday life for granted. When really we need to be giving them more of us. I have leaned that when I bet Bruce and had Sam. Cherish the people who love you, and the peolpe who you love.

Take Care, heidi
