The North-Dallas County AR Meet-Up consisted of a lively, fun loving, interesting RAINERS. We met on Thursday, August 23rd at Benedict’s Restaurant located at 4800 Belt-Line in Addison. There you can eat like a King or feel as special as a Queen.
For our get-together Brian Rayl may as well have been our King because he was surrounded by five lovely Queens. They are Lorrie Semler, Sharon Parisi, Karen Otto, Carie Shapiro and of course myself, Patricia Feager. The food from Benedict’s was fitting for Royalty.
When it comes to making an event happen, it takes a Leader. Thanks to Lorrie Semler for making this event, The North Dallas AR Meet-Up comes to fruition. Upon arrival, there were few introductions. Lorrie and I already knew each other from a previous MCE class and she is the one who encouraged me to join ActiveRain. Karen Otto, Sharon Parisi and Carie Shapiro remembered me from the AR Meet-Up at Sambuca’s with Kerrie and Bob Stewart from a long, long time ago (I think it was a year ago). The only one I didn’t have the privilege of meeting previously was Brian Rayl – it was an honor to meet the King and to have a place at his side at the table. For the record, he's a very good KING!
A funny thing happened to us while I was trying to take pictures of the group. A man who was eating at the Restaurant tried to jump into the pictures. He claimed he was a former model but he didn’t look anything like the Cabana Boy at Anna Banana Kruchten, Founder of the Banana Tude Group on ActiveRain’s Meet-Up yesterday. Anna posted her Cabana Boy on FaceBook and Sally Hanson from Wisconsin and I were fighting over who would get him next. If he was to be shared, only Sally knows…
Sally and I know each other from the previous KW Family Reunion and I must say, there’s something special about getting to bond with people you meet on ActiveRain and you have the privilege to meet them somewhere else, in person; then continue to stay in touch. I can testify to the fact that Lorrie Semler, Sharon Parisi, Karen Otto, Carie Shapiro and Brian Rayl (including Sally and David Hanson from WI for me personally) have bonded and will be friends forever.
Well, this is all for today folks. I hope I get to meet more of you real soon. Oh and by the way, the King and the Queens of the North Dallas County AR Meet-Up group are sworn to secrecy. We will never tell anyone what happened to the man at Benedicts who claimed to be a former model and tried to get into our pictures. Seriously, if I tell, it’s off with my head! Hence, the reason why I'm not making my photo public.
