I go to a local little coffee place by my house a few times a week. Sure, I can brew coffee at home but I can't mingle with the locals right? Lucis Healthy Marketplace is on the corner of 16th st and Bethany Home Road.
I like this place alot. I enjoy the local small neighborhood feel of the place. The young energetic coffee guru always shouts your name when he sees you. Cool. Took me several times to remember his name though. I am that kind of guy. Names stay in my head for about, oh 5 seconds unless you wear a name tag. Everybody there is friendly but Brian strikes up a good conversation. He is more than a coffee dude so I found out.
He told me he wants to be a voice actor. I sent him contact info for a friend of mine in the business in Seattle. He also told me he writes music which led me to tell him my middle son is a Jazz guitar player. Next thing you know the two of them get together and jam.
I asked my son how it went at the jam session. He began to tell me how he marveled at Brians voice to which I said, well yeah he wants to be a voice actor. He said " No Dad, that guy sings full out off the charts voice booming opera!"
Who knew???
It made me think. There is so much interesting talent right in front of us each day. Flipping a burger, selling a soda to us or in this case pouring my coffee. For the most part we have no idea what they do in their spare time for fun.
Now I ask.
