I met Puff, the Magic Dragon while Staging in Kauai, Hawaii

Sing it with me - "Puff, the Magic Dragon, lived by the sea. He frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honna Lee...."

After a whirl-wind weekend of red-eye flights, hours of messurements, picture taking from every corner of every room, outlet placements, color scheems, etc I needed to unwind and become one with nature and my surroundings.  No, it's not what you think it is!!!! Get your minds out of the gutter!

Yes, I met Puff while Staging in Kauai, Hawaii and now I can enlighten the general public who Puff really is....  Natives call their mountain ranges many things, "the Sleeping Giant" for instance that resembles; you guessed it, a large sleeping giant.  Well, Puff is no different.  Kauai Hawaii has a L-O-N-G mountain range that looks like - yep, you're right again - a dragon!

".... In a land called Honna Lee..." is actually the land of Hanalei, a small surfer city, and Hanalei Bay....

This is just ONE of the amazing VIEWS from every room of this magnificent house which I am so honored to Stage located in Princeville, Kauai Hawaii.  The mountains which drop off into Hanalei Bay, is the tail of Puff.  So now we can set the record straight.

Talk about working with many focal points, views like these trump a TV or fireplace, any day!

Want to see the house?

That's the next blog - see you then!

I agree with Cindy, Linda and I absolutely love Kauai.  We actually liked to stay at a place very close to Hanalei Bay.  Gone now, the hurricane got it a few years ago.

Teresa & Juliet ~ here's a teaser. I'll let you all know what the next one is up.

Kristina ~ Thanks for stopping by, this was only my 2nd trip to the islands. The 1st was my honeymoon - over 11 years ago! Should I be accepting your application?

Cindy Bryant ~ did I mention the red-eye flights, oh yeah, and the time difference, not to mention day light savings and only 2 days there - rest? what rest?

Fernando ~ patience young Grass Hopper

Gary ~ Coco Grove?  I thought the developer walked away from it - shame though.

Connie, yes Coco Grove.  What a great place.  It actually was built many, many years ago and became popular in the early 60's because that was where Elvis would stay and film parts of his movies at.  I heard that a developer started to rebuild after the hurricane but that the project was abandoned.  The other thing that I will never forget is just north of that spot is where I seen my first 35+ foot waves.  As a teenager growing up in Southern California I spent way to much time surfing the beaches of So. California, but those waves were way beyond my skill level.  Well, I'm thinking it's time to plan that trip again.....  You lucky girl, I can't wait to see your project photos.

Terrylynn ~ definitely Mother Earth made this island her home. She decorated it beautifully!

Gary ~ Yes, it's now a derelict of a property.  There has been some resentment in recent years about "making the old new again".  Princeville Hotel is going to be rebuilt in the next few months.  I didn't get a chance to see the waves, but when I go back to actually install the staging it should be "surf's up".

Kathleen ~ I'll let you know when the nest blog is posted.
