If you're buying a home, the second aspect you will consider after the home itself is the neighborhood, but it should be the first!
You can change many things on a home, but you can never, EVER change the neighborhood! The neighbors will always be there, or at least the brand of neighbor. The HOAs, or lack thereof will stay the same. Traffic, topography, distance from shopping, all of it is out of your control. It may change for the good or for the worse, but it is primarily out of your hands.
