Scenes From 2013 Grillin and Chillin Brew and Music Fest Ouray, CO. Ouray is known as Little Switzerland, and once you visit there you'll see why. The mountains surrounding this box canyon are absolutely beautiful and rugged. This scenery made a great backdrop for the 2013 Grillin and Chillin Brew and Music Fest Ouray, CO.
Grillin and Chillin Brew and Music Fest had a great turnout. This was family fun for everyone, and there were people there of all ages. For the kids there was a bump and jump and zipline, but some kids managed to have fun on their own. The event is always held in August. This was the sixth year and it keeps getting more popular every year.
Three different Colorado bands took the stage for well over 5 hours of live music. Various food vendors were on hand with many different types of the ever popular festival food. The main attraction, though, seemed to be the opportunity to try many different kinds of micro brews in one place. Brewers were here from all over the Western Slope and a few from the front range and one from Utah.
The music was free for everyone. There was a charge for food and the beer tasting. With the tasting you bought a glass and could sample as much micro brew as you wanted. There were some fabulous beers to be sampled. I had a lemon beer that was very unique and refreshing. I had a cherry beer made by Revolution Brewery out of Paonia. It was made with locally grown, organically raised cherries. It had an amazing taste. Revolution also does a great stout. For me to say it's great is saying something. I'm not a stout drinker.
Ouray was blessed with some rain. It didn't matter to those there to have fun. Festival organizers had tents up, and it was easy to get out of the rain. The rain didn't dampen anyone's spirits or the spirits being served. After the rain, the sun came out and played upon the mountain tops.
I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 22 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a real estate broker, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any real estate information for Montrose County, or Delta County, Colorado...please give me a call.
