Hiking in Sedona has become one of the fastest growing activities for people of all ages. If you are visiting for the first time or the hundredth and haven't explored Sedona's red rocks, you're in for a treat. There are over 100 trails that are perfect for a day hike and the diversity is impressive. Hiking in Oak Creek Canyon is beautiful, particularly in the fall. Lush and green during the summer, leaves begin to turn color in the fall. Large shady trees along Oak Creek and cool air is refreshing after the warm summer months. Walk along the creek or take off and go up the canyon for breathtaking views at the top of the rim. There are Indian ruins, sink holes, natural bridges, rock formations, creeks and so much more to see on one of the many trails to experience in Sedona. Check the trail maps for the hike that best suits what you're looking for. I have found the best place to go for all your hiking needs is at the Hike House on 179 close to Tlaquepaque. They can 'virtually' take you on almost any trail you want to hike in Sedona. It's worth the stop for both locals and visitors to Sedona. Ask for Greg when you get there. It's his place and he has walked most if not all the trails in and around Sedona. You live in a very beautiful area of the country. I went to school at NAU and I lived in North Phoenix for a while. I know Sedona well. I would love to get back there and hike around.
