I wonder what the controversy is Georgina, it sounds like a fun restaurant.
Georgina-That looks like a very cool concept for a restaurant. Being so close, relatively speaking, to CA I imagaine lots of interest in the team on the west coast. But I would also think, Maui merchants in the food and beverage industry may not welcome the competition from outsiders.
Wayne you guessed it. Local merchants think it might be a little rowdy for this quiet beach town. Paia has seen a lot of changes and this will be one of them. It looks like they are moving ahead as plans but we shall see. If not Rock & Brews, there will be something else in this spot. It's too good to waste.

It might be a little rowdy but will probably help the community when people stop and shop there. It might make new businesses come in too. We seem to have the same problem with Wal-Marts in California but they finally get built and open, and the residents cannot wait to go there and shop. Perhaps the residents of Paia will learn to love to go there and enjoy the restaurant/bar.
