5 Apps I Could Not Live Without and Make My Life Easier
Since I first got my iPhone and iPad, I have loved finding new apps and many make my job a lot easier. Some are just so-so but fun but here is a list of the ones I use over and over.
PDFill- This app on my iPad is a lifesaver as while in the field I can create files and email them within seconds. With the tools, you can merge or split files, scan documents and even do watermarks.
Evernote- This is a multifunction app that allows you to do lots of things. You can be sitting in a class taking notes on your iPad, making a list of things to do, taking a photo and sending it off or saving it to view later. You can post a photo to one of your sites (facebook, twitter, word press) or email to a friend.
Genius Scan- This is a great tool to copy checks, invoices, business cards or whatever you want to scan and then email it to yourself or someone else. Also you can add it to an offer you just created in PDFill and off it goes to the listing agent. It is great if you are writing an offer in a restaurant and want to make a copy of the EMD check and have the buyer retain the original. Instead of having to run to your office, just take a copy and you are done.
Zipforms- California Realtors Association’s site for California Realtors and where I can prepare needed state contract forms while in the field with one of my clients. I bring up the site, fill in the blanks, client signs on my iPad, I send it to my PDFill and then email it out. All in all, this process takes about 3-5 minutes from start to finish. Sure beats having to drive to my office, bringing up the site and do it the old fashioned way. Many of my clients prefer the old way but in a pinch they are tickled pink to get it done and email it off where it needs to go. Plus I can email them a copy at the same time. (I am sure all the states have the same type of site available)
My First AM- This is an app that allows you to order title reports and look for documents on a property while you are out in the field. Order it now and look at it but get the full report in your email within an hour. The other title companies have this available but this is the one I use.
Technology has come so far in just a few short years and I cannot even imagine what new tools we will have in the next few years. Work from home, office or in your car….with mobile tablets and phones, you can get the job done with apps. Apps are here to make our lives easier to use them all or just the ones you really like. I have a lot but then I have my favorites too.
