The Sands Beach Club in Atlantic Beach NY is a fabulous place for a family retreat on Long Island. I always wondered why people in New York City and Long Island would go away on a summer vacation when you have the most beautiful beaches right on your door step. Save those beach vacations for the winter.
The Sands offers large cabanas and lockers for rent from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The place is pristine and the staff is comprised of some of the nicest people ever. From the front desk staff to the cabana and locker boys, life guards and even the maintenance people it is the same level of attention to detail.
The Club also offers an amazing day camp staffed by kid friendly, enthusiastic councilors. The kids are busy with water, sports, arts and crafts activities all day and a nutritious lunch is offered every day.
There is also a fully stocked grill and snack bar that even offers sushi on the weekends.
I highly recommend this beach club.
