Atlanta and the greater metro area is blessed to have the Atlanta Braves. The Braves organization brings a lot to the community and to Metro Atlanta as a whole. Besides the ability to see a major league games, meet stars, get autographs, and spend a day at the park, you have to step back and take a look at what these people do for the community.

First and foremost, having a team like the Braves is an attraction to the area. An attraction that not only brings in revenue from visitors, but potential homeowners. Baseball fans come into our fair region and buy second homes so that when they come for a weekend, they have a place to stay that is close to the park. Not only that, but when people are looking for cities to work in, this can also factor in to where they might want to be. But, let us take a step back for a minute and look at what benefits our community gains by have a great team like the Atlanta Braves beside people buying houses or staying in hotels here.

The Atlanta Braves joined out community in 1966 and currently has 17 different programs for our community. They believe that to be a true part of the community then they have to stretch outside the walls of Turner Field and help our community grow. The Braves as a team and organization Run programs from feeding the hungry to youth baseball programs. It really does not stop there though. Players such as Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Tim Hudson, Jeff Francoeur and once player now turned announcer Brian Jordan have their own charities that they push.

With that said, our community is just not affected by the major league sports team. It goes deeper than that and it starts at the T-Ball level and works it way all the way through to the college level. Having a major league team in our city pushes the kids to perform at their best, learn sportsmanship, and to become a better person because they look up to these players and being as close to them as they are, they can relate somewhat on a personal level with them as they see them more than just on television.

Baseball is not what makes our community. it is what helps unite our community by helping to complete us. I will share these two things with you. One is a video and the other is a graphics. Enjoy.

This is a great post highlighting our awesome local Major League Team...GO BRAVES! It is very true that a major league and/or minor league team contributes more than just a great sports team to their hometown! Nice post!

Danny, you're going to have to email me when you've posted, I'm missing too many of them. This is just another great example of what Atlanta has to offer. I love the graphics and all of the links.
