If you follow my blog you know that this time last week I was preparing for a funeral of a 34 year family member. It was an accident and it was totally heartbreaking. And the fact that I had a featured post on the day of the funeral I found a certain amount of humor in. I didn't have time to comment back and I really wasn't able to focus and it was a few days before I got around to even reading all the comments on the posts I tried to get out last week.
Then after the funeral I just left town for a night. I really needed a break from everything and Donald graciously agreed and we went as previously planned for just a quick overnight get a way. Well besides my iPhone I had some serious tech down time on Sunday and Monday last week. ActiveRain just wasn't even on my radar or on my mind.
But when I plowed back in on Tuesday and and started to catch up and clean up my office (desk piled high) and catch up on email I was totally overwhelmed at the number of messages that came from my ActiveRain friends that I've never met and others that I have had the pleasure of meeting.
I'm not going to name names... for various reason... but some called, some sent texts, some emailed, some snail mailed cards... but I was truly overwhelmed by support. One very sweet member listened to me on the phone for over an hour and a half. I was so blessed to have many many people praying for my family. Someone even mailed my Aunt a book to read to her young granddaughter about her daddy going to heaven. At 9, loosing your daddy must be really awful and any comfort is welcomed. I have started to cry again just thinking about all the wonderful support I received from you (all of you).
What do I want YOU to be able to take from this... well... when you are going through something that makes you loose focus on work and you need a swift kick in the rear to get back on track or when you go through a personal crisis and would like for hundreds of people to being praying to help get you through... ActiveRain is a community filled with support.
If you think you need a better way to market your business or your listing... reach to this community and I promise you'll find help. If you are frustrated with time managment ... we're here to offer suggestions. Think you are ready to branch out and start your own firm because you're tired of doing what seems like all the work with no support and only a percentage of the money... plenty of us who have done that previously will offer a laundry list of advise for you to filter through. Have a problem with corporate customer service from a giant and want to go on the attack to get their attention at the top... blog about it and ask for reblogs and tweets and this group will climb and board and help. Death or illness in your family... don't be afraid to ask for prayers and warm fuzzy wishes.
I can't think of any more supportive place in the universe than right here among these hundreds of thousands of pages and frankly some of the smartest people in the real estate world.
Don't be afraid to ask... we're all here to support you.
