A Sure Sign You Might Be Lost

Boat in The Woods At Mason Neck

Is when your boat ends up in the woods.

While out scouting properties along the Potomac River this morning I spied this boat just off the river.  Made me think about all of the explorers who first went up and down the river in the Mason Neck area looking for places to fish, hunt and build their homes.

Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day weekend and don't get lost along the way.

Hi Cindy.  I think being lost is only one of a few problems that this boat owner has.

Cindy:

Excellent picture. Very funny. I heard a story years ago on Paul Harvey that was an extreme version of this. A couple of Hikers found this guy completely outfitted in a diving suit out in the middle of the forest miles from any lake or ocean. The man was deceased. As it turned out there had been a forest fire in the nearby area months back. The helicopters had dipped there buckets into a lake to get water to douse the fire and had inadvertently picked ups this poor diver.

There is a recent Matthew McConaughey movie titled, "Mud" that reminds me a little of that picture.  In the film, boys discover an abandoned boat in the wilderness, that seems misplaced from its natural setting.
