Horse Heaven

I have been trying to put some weight on my 30 year old mare, Fancy, for the past month. I thought she was doing well and that her weight was improving. Last week she coliced. I thought I was going to lose her as I had no Banamine on hand and the vet could not make a house call until late afternoon. She hung on for the afternoon and despite her obvious pain and discomfort she responded well to the treatment my vet. offered once she arrived.

She is happy and pain free this week as she enjoys her new diet additive of beet pulp and bran while she watches the sun set on the Sangre De Cristos mountains which she can see in the distance. She loves her home in Park County and I love living in the Pikes Peak region with my Fancy.

The blue birds are back, a sure sign of Spring, but I will be sure only once the Canadian geese fly home to my Spring fed pond.

Hi Sabrina,
I know that was a scary time for you.  Glad to hear your horse recovered and everything is looking rosy for you.  Spring makes everything look better to me.  :0)
