Baton Rouge, Louisiana is filled with historical sites and areas. One popular area is Beauregard Town. This area is a historic district in downtown Baton Rouge. It was actually listed in the National Register of Historical Places. Historic homes in Beauregard Town include the Governor Henry L. Fuqua House and the Williams House. These are both on Napolean Street. Did you know that Beauregard Town is the second oldest neighborhood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana?

You might think that since it's the oldest neighborhood in Baton Rouge it possibly might look ancient. Well, this isn't the case. About ten years ago, a lot of the homes started to be renovated. Many of these beautiful, older homes have been bought and renovated by businesses. Businesses aren't the only one that are jumping on the renovation band wagon. Residents of Beauregard Town started their own renovation plan about five years ago. Not only did this add beauty to the neighborhood, it caused the prices to rise.

It is said that Beauregard Town's neighbors are considered close. Since the homes are so close together, this pushes opportunities for neighbors to get to know one another. Crime is not as big as an issue as people might assume. People watch out for each other and each other's homes. If you are thinking about moving to Beauregard Town or planning on moving your business into the historical district, it would be good to know what surrounds it. Here's some information on Beauregard Town schools, stores, restaurants and more!
