Active Rain, I've missed you. Since I joined Active Rain in 2011, my business model has changed 99%. I entered real estate under the old premise of local marketing, Homes guides and friends, family and sphere of influence as the primary source of leads and listings.  

When I started Cornerstone as a real estate sales office in 2011, I didn't know anything about the use of the Internet for sales, marketing or lead generation. Active Rain changed all of that. Just reading blogs informed me that there is a whole new world out there full of anxious clients looking for me. Active Rain University and the webinars have been a college level education.

I spent all of 2011 learning about the web as a marketing tool. I didn't worry about sales during that year (even though I did well). My goal was to learn everything I could about using the Internet to generate business. Well, that was a better use of my time than I could have imagined.

Because of the things I've learned, I generate 30 plus leads a week. About 25% of those turn into clients that end in a closing. I've been so abundantly blessed with business, that I give a portion of those leads to agents who work with me, and I've even given a few to other brokers when I'm too busy to handle the workload. 

It's not just the education that benefits my business and me. The relationships are just as valuable. I've had a lot of referrals from other Rainer agents. I've sent referrals out to other Rainer agents, and I've worked through deals with Rainer agents. It has been great. So far, I haven't been disappointed in a single opportunity.

The downside is that I don't have as much time for Active Rain, but on a positive note, it's all because of what I've gleaned from Active Rain. The money I spent on the Rainmaker status earlier was some of the best money I could have invested in my future. I've passed the point of paying for that status, but it still offers benefits day in and day out.

So, for anyone who thinks Active Rain is not worth your time, money or energy, I say, "Great!"
