Dad's, I have 3 sons. Yes....MY THREE SONS. I have a 9, 7 and 3 year old sons. I am a blessed man. Organized Chaos....nothing short of a dad raising a bunch of future leaders of America. I'm to raise just steller men. But I'm having a blast with them now. My oldest has the best heart ever. The second oldest is the clown and the sports jock, and the third is the one who is is kind and loving and a veritable tank - is such a combination possible?

Men suck today as leaders because fathers let them down. They're absent or even if they're at the home, they can still be absent. I know that all too well. I'm pulled in a myriad of directions. Men are warriors. Men need to conquer. You want tough. If you want to be tough try being a successful dad...not walking away, but doing the right thing by you. Many dads think that being at the house is being a dad. Your son cries out for you and will be just like you.

I'M NOT A COUNTRY MUSIC FAN. But a friend of mine shared this with me. It's awesome encouragement for being a great dad. Here's a video by Rodney Atkins that exemplifies this.

Amen - being a father is very important.  You are a huge roll model and should set a good example as often as possible.  My son has changed my life and even made me rearrange priorities that I thought were carved in stone.

Nice entry, Larry!

The video is a great reminder, Larry.  On the same par as "Cat's Cradle".

I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC TOO.  I am sure you are an amazing role model.  Kids pick up on everything we do.  We are role models all the time- kids are watching us all the time and want to be just like us.  We have big shoes to fill.  Cute video, even if it is twangy.

Alexander....I wasn't aware of your "physical father" status, but I can tell you that you are a father to many on AR and I'm sure in other aspects of life.

Ging....I confess that I love 1 out of every 100 country songs that I hear.  This is one....but 99 out of 100 I can't stand....

Larry, very thoughtful and right on post! I am a country fan, and have enjoyed this song and I choke up everytime I hear it. Being a dad is probably the hardest job you will ever have - but also the most rewarding. ;-)
