Get Out Of My Dreams, Get Into My Database
While shuffling back to the car from the Friday night football game, I ran into a former co-worker. "Hi Doug, how's it been? I follow your posts on Facebook".
This fellow who I have not had a meaningful conversation with since 2002 follows my blog posts (which find their way to Facebook). Shame on me. For starters this guy has a wicked sense of humor. To this day I still use some of his one-liners. Why did I let this friend slip away?
And from a greedy capitalist's perspective...Imagine how many transactions I have missed out on? Everybody knows somebody with a real estate need. The trick is being in front of them when they need it.
Time for me to buy this fellow lunch and get the friendship back in order. Then add his contact information to my database.
Once we got into the SUV my daughter asked why I was smiling. Just doing business my dear.No wonder why the offspring think their dad is a dork. But daughters are expense, so daddies must work. Even at football games.
