I joined the NRA last week

Sondra-Good for you. I think we as Americans have the right to bear arms and protect ourselves against criminals.  I have used both rifles and pistols in the past and wouldn't hesitate to protect myself if it was me or them. I have thought about getting a pistol permit and I probably will sometime in the near future.

Sondra-I just noticed you have an additional name of Peterson. Did you get married by chance? If so congratulations and I wish you much happiness. You deserve it.

Hi Sondra. I was unaware of the outside donations into this political issue, so thanks for bringing that to our attention. I have been a big believer that the Second Amendment as written is pretty good as are the laws currently on the books. With people in disgruntled moods here lately I think along with yourself this recall may be easier than you think. I have taken rifle and shotgun shooting courses from the NRA and perhaps like yourself should consider the benefits of membership.

Hi Sondra,  Good for you.  We all need to stand up for what we believe in and the right to protect ourselves is something so fundamental that we should not let government take away from us.  Enough meddling from government. 

Good for you.  There are few who speak for gun owners but an entire national party who speak for an legislate for criminals ability to secure and keep firearms and ammunition.

The cost of a box of trap or skeet loads has increased 35% since DHS purchased over a billion rounds of ammunition.  Ammunition for us gun owners is now difficult and very expensive.

I do not believe that gun control is the goal.  I believe that confiscation is the goal.  The NRA is our only line of defense.

Sondra - Well done on your part!  Best of luck to the residents of Colorado to decide if their elected representatives truly represented their constituents.  Regarding Lenn's comment above, range time has become much more expensive... when you can find the caliber you need.

For you being a new bride from my garden

I think I understand how you feel.  I almost joined the tea party last year, not because I agree with everything they say and do, but just because I was tired of hearing liberal talk show hosts and actors denigrate them, when they don't even know them. In my case, I couldn't find them so didn't join.  Will be watching the election news closely. 

Sondra, Good for you. It is your right and though I don't shoot or own a gun I am glad that I can if I want to until they take that away from me.

This is a topic I'm hearing many women talking about these days. I am still at the TAR Convention and at our Expo Booth they had Taser C2's on display for sale as an alternative for women who are sitting on the fence. They actually shoot darts that paralyze the attacker for 30 seconds and causes a lot of pain. Although most women in TX pack, it's still a struggle for those who don't. And when I opened up my Board's Newsletter today, they are offering classes on concealed handguns and training classes for women. I'm afraid this is the direction many (the majority) are going. We each have to make up our own minds and get educated.

I personally do not want guns around me. I do feel it is a matter of choice for Americans. I hate to say this but I live in the murder capitol of America. Illinois. We have the tightest handgun laws but they may be changing. Almost every night on the news you can hear sad stories about people needlessly loosing their lives.

By the way, Colorado is probably my favorite state.

Sondra, you go girl.  My husband and I each have guns and will be taking lessons and getting our license this month.
