Keep pressing anyways!!

We've all been grinding to find new business...and then, grinding some more!

Maintaining that positive outlook means persevering when nothing good is happening...or so it seems.

It means exploring your options when they are few, smiling when you feel like everything but, and finding that ray of hope-when all hope is lost...(I seem to find one ray a day)

This is the place where character is born, then grows and ultimately, all your hard work pays off.

To my colleagues that have left the profession:...I will miss you as you move on to that other opportunity.

But, in being truthful, I will not miss the competition!

Having waited to begin my life as a "self-employed" entrepreneur until after another whole career, I'm less enthusiastic (or is it hard-headed?) about returning to a 9-5 gig where I put all the money in someone elses pocket...

Walk

I'm gonna keep pressing this button...even though it doesn't do anything right now.  Why?  Because this button is MY button...and who knows, it might just do something the next time I press it.

You should be thankful too!  Tomorrow I might just decide to press your button.

Keep your chins up out there!!

Shannon, It is not about what is happening in the market as it is about what you are doing in the market that is happening.  Our local Ann Arbor market just released reports showing 2007 as the WORST of the last few years and yet it was my best year ever.  Hang in there.  Change is coming.

It's not a game, it's your life.

Shannon, very nice positive post.  When I see posts that I would like to comment on but I can't come up with something positive, I just don't comment.  Even if it is someone that I respect and would like to show support for.  You did a great thing by pumping in one more breath of fresh air.

Like Susan said, she's having her best year ever.  (I did one negative post on somethng and when she gave her comment, which was polite, I read between the lines and pulled it immediately)  I don't think I will ever do something like that again whether I'm in the right or wrong.

Your post reinforces that feeling to keep everything positive.

It's hard work with big rewards.  Every day is a great day for me!  I meet new people, do business, have freedom from 9 to 5 and I am in charge my own business.  The market has changed and we all need to change our way of doing business.  I love the challenge.

I agree and always try to stay positive myself. I could never imagine going back to the corporate world again. I hope I never have to. Quitting was never an option for me.

Susan- I'm seeing more signs of life.  Many more than even 6 months ago. Thanks!

Mark- I try, every day, to find that ray and broaden it...I like the responses I get by being more positive too!:5: -It's like fishing with dynamite

Leo and Stephanie- Years ago, I used to have alot of teenagers working for me.  The lesson I tried to impart was that of the "gumball machine"- I'd say to these kids: "You can't get your gumball out until you put your penny in..."  Thanks for the nice words.

Diane- Some days I could do with less challenge and more business! I like your 'tude!  Keep it up!!:10:

Megan- Let's hope and pray we never have to look for work... :3:...ever again!

Derrick- good advice...thanks!
