Blogging Will Improve Your Real Estate Skills

Blogging Knowledge After 14 months on Active Rain, I conclude that blogging has sharpened my skills as a real estate agent.

This forum benefits real estate agents and other real estate professionals in several ways

We improve our understanding of the business, by writing about it.
You research your facts.

Sort out your thoughts.
Then reduce it to writing.

Once we post our blog article we have a discussion and an exchange of knowledge with other top professionals.
Other professionals post articles that are filled with valuable information we can take back to our business.

Before we speak to our clients we have had the opportunity to organize our thoughts, bounce the ideas off of others and do the needed research.

I find that when discussing issues like ethical behavior, the mortgage industry and our market conditions, I am much better prepared and able to articulate to clients much better.

The other obvious benefits are the ability of the public to find us and to learn about us.

Randy- I think it helps focus (organize thoughts, like you said)

. I don't think I would consider not doing it ever. Blogging to real estate is like having a little sugar in your coffee.

Randy, I totally agree. I found since I post and read thoughts of other I am more sharper. The continue flow of thought gear toward Real Estate really help me. Whether talking with investors or agents. You brought out a great point here.

Blogging has been one of my better carear moves. I have gained a great deal of information, done some strong networking, been educated in areas I didn't know and had a lot of fun along the way.

Hi Randy, I just posted my first blog and being new to the profession I feel like a sponge, just soaking up all this knowledge from pros like you.

Blogging is definitely sharpen my skills as a real estate professional. I am also gaining much needed knowledge from all of the brilliant real estate professionals on this site. I wish I would've known about blogging before July 2006 when I wasted thousands of dollars on lead generation companies and advertising in newspapers. I know that as long as I continue to read and comment on posts,I will write very effective blogs that will attract potential clients to me. Great post.

You're absolutely right. Blogging forces us to think outside the box. I'm constantly on the prowl for new ideas as well as suggestions from other Active Rainers.

Blogging does have many benefits. It has definitely help to improve my Internet presence.

Derrick - It has done that for me also.

My Goodness Yes! Writing about what you do sharpens and focuses your attention on your real estate skills. We read and learn. We share and refine.

Of course, blogging helps.

Randy, it also improves your communication skills - both verbal and written. Just think of how much quicker and better we are at dispatching a quick email that says what we want it to.

Randy, you are so right! It keeps us thinking about things that hadn't ever reached our radar screens.

Blogging has definitely widened my horizons about the mortgage and real estate businesses. By analyzing the topics you are writing about will force you to think deeper and when readers express their opinions in comments they will often express another angle to the story.

We gain a lot of tools from reading Active Rain blogs. I shared with my team today the lesson from a recent post that a 5% decline in the purchase price of a home is the equivalent of a 1/2% increase in interest rate.

Well i have learned one thing that I dont get as much sleep as i did before I came on here

Man, I couldn't agree more. Once I committed to developing a winning blog I saw my horizons expand exponentially. To some degree blogging strains the schedule, but I am convinced the payoff has been extraordinary and is just getting rolling for the faithful.

Lenn - I think the refining is a big part for me.

Steve - My communication skills are improving all the time and blogging has been a big influence.

Patricia - It does that.

Michael S. - I do get to share a lot of good information from other top professionals.

Mike F. - I have only been doing it less than a year and a half and it has made a big positive impact on my business also.

Gary W. - Unfortunately for many, they have not taken the opportunity. The same is true of classes.
