We must not forget!

As we commemorate the events of 9/11/2001, let us send a message to the world.  "We will never forget!"  In an interview with a terrorist shortly after the attack, the terrorist in a smug and jovial way said, "It happened.  Get over it!"  It was like pouring gasoline on a fire.

As I watched the names being read this morning, I was once again overcome with emotion.  Spouses, grown children, small children and friends read off the names.  Each one had a special message for their fallen loved one.  It was heart-wrenching.

America, a failure to adequately remember is a prescription for a repeat performance and an emboldened enemy.  We must keep the pressure on and rid the world of this scourge once and for all.  It may seem like an impossible task, but when it becomes more painful for terrorists to commit acts of terrorism than their desired result, they will stop.  God bless America, and God bless the surviors, the victims and their families of this great tragedy.

I'll never forget, Mike.  Never in my life have I been to stunned, horrified, and saddened as I was that day.

Mike, I got a late start today, watching the names read made me stop and tear up. We've learned to live with it but, we will never forget. That was one of the most horrible and heart wrenching days I've ever experienced. God Bless America.

There are places in Union County where we live and work where the NY skyline is visible. It still breaks my heart every time I see it because I scan the horizon for the Twin Towers every single time, just like I did when I was a kid.
