Don't Let Water Puddle Near Your Home

After an inspector pointed out this issue at a home recently, I've been seeing the same problem at every home I visit now. This is an air conditioning condensate drain pipe coming out of a home and dripping water day after day,Water dripping by house year after year right next to the foundation.

Don't Let Water Puddle Near Your Home.

The easiest way to avoid this situation is to put a splash block underneath the pipe just like what you would put under a downspout from a gutter. This will disperse the water away from the foundation.

By taking care of this inexpensive item, you'll have one less thing to worry about when the inspector writes up his report.

There are many other inexpensive 'fixes' that you can make that will project your home in the best light. I would love to discuss these items with you if you are interested in listing your home for sale. Please give me a call.

Hi Jill. We had that come up in a recent home inspection and the seller had to put an elbow and extension on the condensate pipe to take it away from the house.

Jill, In a crawl space home that could mean water goes under the house. In a slab, it could undermine and erode the soil around it. Your fix is a simple one.

Tom and Debbie...Just makes sense not to have water sitting next to the house. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Jill, That's a good tip to look for.  It could be a lifesaver in the end.  Also, thank's for commenting on my post. (suggested)

Larry...No point in giving the home inspector more issues to put in his report. I was happy to see a home that I just listed already had a splash block in place.
