“Foodie Fridays” in Austin
How about something a little different this weekend? We've been experiencing restaurants with flavors from around the world lately. This weeks recomendation may not be for everyone, but, it is listed as “Dining for adults and well-behaved children in a relaxing European style bistro in a comfortable, natural setting among the live oaks just off Bee Caves Road.” It's been referred to as one of Austin's hill country venues best kept secret so let's give it a try!

Ronnie’s is only open Thursday through Sunday and they are reservation only. Everyone is seated at the exact same time - 7pm – so you only need to ensure you are on the list. The menu is fixed and posted on their website. It’s a small restaurant only seating 40 people. The fixed price of $25-$28 includes a four course meal, coffee, hot tea, or a roasted grain beverage, sales tax and gratuity! The roasted grain beverage is a hot beverage made from one or more cereal grains roasted and processed into crystal or powder form to be reconstituted later with hot water – it’s a caffeine free alternative to coffee and tea. Ronnie’s does not serve alcohol, however you can bring your own and they do not have a corkage fee.

Pescado - $26 or Tofu - $24 Veracruzano

Fruit cobbler with ice cream.
Ronnie’s is a restaurant that many have said is an “affordable luxury with a romantic candle lit atmosphere”. The Westlake Picayune says "Ronnie’s is one of the Hill Country’s Best Kept Secrets!"
