My wife and I decided to take a break from Maui and work and take the ferry over to the Island of Lanai. So the easiest way to do a little island hopping is on the ferry from Lahaina to Lanai.
We headed over with some good friends for a little camping on the beach. The ride over to Lanai was perfect, with low winds and crystal clear water.
This was the area we were camping. I love that it takes some effort to get here and that is why it is pretty much uncrowded. I am going to go on record the Lanai is one of the most beautiful places in Hawaii. It's pretty cool you see wild turkey on the road side and at night we had a herd of axis deer crusing around our camp.
This is a secret beach that you have to climb down the cliff. Lanai is one those rare places that has not been touched by development and retains its natural beauty.
I was joking that I will walk on water for my clients. In Hawaii this is the suits we generally wear.
We took the bus up to Lanai City for the Aloha Festival. Very good food and lots of Aloha from everyone.
I really like these two dancers, they had big smiles and were excellent dancers.
Something very peaceful about the Island of Lanai. The Natrual beauty is screaming in your face from all over this island.
So it's about the journey, living each day to the fullest. Some days you need to take a break and the island of Lanai is a special place. There are also two world class Four Season Hotels if camping is not your thing, but you miss the nightly visit by deer and sitting on the beach in the morning with a fresh brewed cup of coffee.
