Not Everyone Can Patch A Hole In The Wall
There is real satisfaction in patching a hole in the hole and making it disappear from sight. A patch that is done right can not be detected except by looking very closely at the details up close.
This patch does not meet that ideal, you can see that it was patched.
Tom, I have the utmost repect for tradesmen that can make a hole totally 'disappear', especially without the benefit of a textured paint covering! Some larger areas seem to be easier to patch than smaller ones.
Well, if I had patched the hole myself, I'd be proud as punch.
If I paid someone to do it, they'd be waiting for their money until they finished.

As a drywall purist, I look carefully at drywall everywhere I am. And I find the flaws...
Good morning Tom. You're right, not everyone can patch as well as another but something is better than nothing I guess.
The larger repairs can be easier I guess, but there will always be that transition point from the old to the new work Robert.
I'd be glad to help the repair guy out, I can tell what he did wrong. It is not rocket science Clint. :)

When you see enough repairs, they can be spotted. Some are easier to find than others.
I don't know Sheila, I have seen some patch work that I would say, "It looked better as a hole". :)
It's not easy finding contractors that do excellent work for a decent price. Once you find a good one, I recommend hanging on to them.
Tom, For many that is pretty good. For a pro it just will not do. It is all perspective.
