Would you drink water from the tap?
The Agua Caliente Cahuilla Band of Indians is suing the DWA, believing the DWA has been negligent in protecting the quality of our water. A water quality study conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey found higher levels of contaminants in Coachella Valley aquifers compared to the rest of the State. (Desert Groundwater Dirtier Than Most, Desert Sun, Jan 14, 2013) We cannot sit idly by as the aquifer continues to be depleted and water polluted. The purpose of the DWA is to provide clean, reliable and safe water.
If elected, I will do everything I can to work with the DWA and our shared beliefs, committing to clean, safe, reliable water and to bring cohesion and cooperation, so we can operate as a unified force. Bringing both sides back to the table for talks should be our focus to clearly understand both sides and move forward together to resolve our water quality issues
