24 Comments on Bar Harbor Maine Our Favorite East Coast Vacation Destination
Popham outside of Bath is where we used to vacation every year! We loved it and miss it but the drive is about 7 hours for us. These shows bring it all back for us. We were at Thunder Hole and we have pictures somewhere. If I ever find them, I'll send some along. Great place to live - how is selling Real Estate there. Maybe we'll come live by you! Thanks for sharing these pictures with us. It brought back some very fond memories.
Bob & Lisa
Hi Bob and Lisa, We have been to Popham Beach and it was beautiful. I'd drive 7 hours but it would be for about 5-7 days. 5 days is a long weekend. Leave late Thursday and come home Tuesday. We sell real estate in NH not Maine. I'm glad it brought back fond memories.
Thanks for stopping by.
Now there's a place to visit! Nicely done.
Jay
Thanks Jay it is truly beautiful up there. The coast of Maine is breathtaking with all it's little harbors and protective coves.
We are all blessed to live in this great Country.
Jay and Monika,
My husband and I "fell in love" at Bar Harbor a long time ago. We never had the chance to go back but definitely remember it as one of our favorite places. (It was very cold though:) But the air was noticeably clean and the views were breathtaking. I for one will never forget Bar Harbor!
Nick thanks for stopping by and yes we celebrated (hiccup) but we behaved ourselves. (hiccup) Thanks for the compliment.
Karen How sweet you fell in love. It's a great place to fall in love. Did you get a chance to go to the top of Cadillac Mtn. It is tough to forget Bar Harbor onc you've been there. You must go back. I know it's a long drive but well worth it for you. Maybe we'll see you up there. We will be there 1st week in August.
Karen,
Try and come up while we're there in August...it would be a blast. We're actually leaving the last week of July and going to New Brunswick and then down to Bar Harbor for the 1st week in August. There is so much to do in Bar Harbor and Acadia National park.
Jay and Monika
August 1st hmmmm. I need to check with my son about when they are visiting. I also would like to go to New Brunswick since my great grandparents came from Saint John. I was just mentioning this to hubby yesterday....And no I did not get to Cadillac Mt....We actually did not go out much that weekend:)

Thanks for stopping by. Jay
Hi Nima, thanks for stopping by and yes it is one of our favorite places too. Hope all is well with you.
Thanks Jay
So wonderful to read about your experiences! I have a blog with great things to do in Bar Harbor: http://blog.reserve123.com/2008/10/your-maine-destination/
We love visiting Maine. I'll check out your blog! Thanks for stopping by.
A gorgeous spot for sure! I am very fortunate to be a Realtor based out of Bar Harbor, Maine. I swear, just driving onto MDI you can feel the tension and stress melt away. If that doesn't do it, than a rigorous hike up Dorr/Acadia/Kebo mountains will relieve the stress. Although, your area in NH is pretty darn nice too!
Thanks Erica, we sure do love the Maine coast. We may be heading that way this coming weekend. Maybe Boothbay Harbor region.
Heading that way soon - can't wait!
We will be ther the first week of August.
