computer mouse(Techs - skip. You know this already)

This will be my quickest blog ever, but priceless if you don't know this yet.

My college daughter told me this quick tip - and I've used it over and over again.

It's work with most things I've used it for, I find it especially helpful in web browser box....

One click of the mouse highlights a single letter or space.

Two quick clicks on top of word highlights the word.

Three quick clicks on top of a sentence highlights the entire sentence.

EDITED:  (Thanks, Chris)

Two quick clicks in between two words highlights those two words.

Isn't that great!  Now go play!

I've taught this little trick to more than one person :)

It's particularly useful when you think you can't highlight something. Often a double or triple click will allow you to.

Penny, You are welcome - it is!!

Jeff, Thank you ! The video was awesome, as you are!  This has been around for 20 years? Oh dear.... I thought I kept up pretty good.  You are right - its SO important to go "back to the basics".  Basics for you might be a jackpot for others!

Watch the video comment y'all

Kim- I have considered myself a "pro" when it comes to tech. This simple yet powerful tip is something that I have never heard of. I just tried it and it will be very useful.

Thank you for providing it to all of us! Excellent information.

Best,

Scott Cowan

Great tips, but ACTUALLY, Ctrl-Click will highlight a sentence (in Word).  Three clicks will highlight a paragraph.

Try this on a paragraph made up of more than one sentence.

Joe, I've decided I like reading the little ones - so I shouldn't be so wordy (that's hard for me)

Scott, you are welcome :)

Andy, Ok, I'm sure there are many tweaks and turns and different programs might even act a little different.  I haven't gotten your paragraph suggestion to work, but I'm sure it will on certain things. THANK YOU!

Todd, Awh. You'll get her one of these days!  I hope you just say, "yes Dear".  Good words....

Great tips!  Last night I actually had to show my dh how to highlight a paragraph by clicking and highlighting.  Now see if she has any tips on how I can get my wireless remote to work:)

I tried it, and for me, the 2 click and the 3 click work, but the 1 click doesn't. Still its handy. Thanks. I've got 2 of the college kids myself- amazing what they come up with. I listen to a lot of music I would have never found w/o them.

I didn't actually know this trick, but I did know that if I clicked the mouse enough times, then what I wanted highlighted would be.  Thanks for the specifics :)

Kim,

Thanks for sharing the shortcut.  The single click didn't seem to work, but the double and triple clicks worked fine.
