Top Producer 7i & MRIS Keystone Photo Upload Java Problem RESOLVED!

Over the past two weeks I have probably recieved over 40 phone calls regarding Top Producer & MRIS issues.  What the problem is, as we all know Top Producer 7i is JAVA based but requires that the Java Applet in Internet Explorer be disabled. The problem is that MRIS (Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) the MLS for MD, VA, DC, DE, PA & WV has just released a new version of KEYSTONE (what you use to upload & edit listings)  One of the features now is that you can upload 30 photos per listing, but it REQUIRES JAVA, and installs it on your computer when you first use the new keystone.     So basically both programs require java in some way shape or form, but keystone requires an option that top producer won't run with.

 Now that you have a background on the problem, here is how to fix it.

HOW TO RESOLVE TOP PRODUCER & MRIS KEYSTONE JAVA PROBLEM

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to MRIS.com  & Login
  • Open KEYSTONE & make sure that you can upload a photo to your listing
  • Now close out of KEYSTONE
  • Open TOP PRODUCER 7i
  • You should get an error when logging in...if so please proceed with the following
  • In Internet Explorer Click on TOOLS
  • Click on INTERNET OPTIONS
  • Go to the ADVANCED TAB
  • Scroll half way down the list until you get to the JAVA (SUN) section
  • UNCHECK the box next to "Use JRE 1.5.0 for <applet> (requires restart)
  • Now click on OK
  • Close Internet Explorer
  • Reopen Internet Explorer
  • Try Top Producer...it should log right in
  • Now try Uploading a photo into MRIS Keystone...it should also work

I also have to mention that if you are a TOP PRODUCER 8i USER, then you do not need to worry about this.  Top Producer 8i is NOT JAVA based and does not have the same conflict.  Stay tuned to my next post where I will do a review of the new Top Producer 8i platform!

David, thanks for walking me through this on the phone the other day!  I'll try to spread the word about this post to other MRIS users!  (You don't have a graphic like that for the SAFE-MLS login, do you?)
