I have read that scientists are beginning to study how they might be able to slowly push the Earth away from the Sun, with the use of asteroids (getting them to pass by the Earth in a manner which slowly influences our orbit, over a long stretch of time).    Toward the end of the Sun's life, as it becomes a "Red Giant", they hope that the Earth would be far enough way to extend its existence by an additional billion years or more.

Just sayin'.  :o)

That's great news.  I guess we can all feel safe investing in more real estate.

Whew, one less worry. I was somehow beginning to think I would out live the planet.
