The Beverly Hills Courthouse in Beverly Hills succumbs to Budget Cuts

Hi Endre - Funny, and not a bit sad, but it does make me concerned when it appears that even Beverly Hills is having financial problems. What next, a dollar store on Rodeo Dr.?

We are going to be seeing more and more of this as governments start to realize that they have to control their spending.

Endre - Beverly Hills courthouse is one of the most famous courthouse in Los Angeles County.

Endre - it is always so strange to see something which such a history change.  Well, no more traffic tie ups for you, LOL. 

Endre - It is interesting that the Beverley Hills Court House building is still open for traffic tickets, but not court cases.  You will miss the crowds and the local circus with this latest change!

It is my understanding that with all the lawyers and doctors who have been arrested for DUI, all the graffiti on the cell walls was written in Latin!

Nice post, Endre... Great photos and thanks for the insights. I didn't really think about the 'stars' having to go downtown now. Wow, if those walls could talk. It is kind of weird to see a building closed and empty when for years it was bustling with activity.

Let make it into something money producing, generating and needed for the area. Chunky Cheese.... well no but...keep thinking, brainstorming.....new AR headquarters with less glass, overhead...maybe....

All they have to do is knock on a few doors and they can collect enough money to open a library....good post

I keep wondering what we're doing with all this money we're saving. My "appointed" court house is in Orange and while it is busier than ever, they have reduced their hours, closing up at 4 instead of 5. Coupled with schools shutting down or starting up later, furlough days, "convenience fees" to pay everything online...where is it all going? I do feel a little sorry for the Beverly Hills folks. While I find the celebrity lifestyle a little ridiculous, they have money because we gave it to them so we have to say it was fairly earned (if not deserved), and further inconvenience for anyone who pays taxes to have fairly convenient services available to them isn't much fun.

Endre. the positive of all this is that the paparazzi now too can consolidate their efforts  making for a more fruitful and productive day!

Well if they close the courthouse completely, it may be an excellent real estate opportunity. I know someone who sold a post office in the Atlanta area and made quite a good commission. You never know.

Endre, yes, famous people will not like being mixed in with the common people when they have to go to court.

No doubt we are going to see more of this in the public and government sector. Guess the paparazzi will have to hang out somewhere else - no doubt the court cases will continue and we will have a more interesting mix of the famous and the infamous. LOL
