Words of encouragement,,thanks!

Well, here I am blogging on day 2 of my active rain experience.  I was thrilled to read the comments from other AR members.  Their words of encouragement were greatly appreciated.  One thing I am still a little confused about is how best to utilize this site.  What expectations can I expect from this experience?  Is this mostly for the exchange of information regarding our industry?  Do we share ideas about what works for us in our markets? What benefit from someone "outside" our community get from this site?  Should we be concerned about one of our clients checking out other realtors within our region and switching their allegiance?

My personal experience in this business is that some realtors are willing to share information,,,and many are very competitive and reluctant to exchange ideas.

I am a team player.  My background in marketing led me to believe that collaboration in a group, helps the individual too.  Although many times I have found that very often the exchange is a one-way street.  What are your experiences?

During my breast cancer treatment, over 6 months, I blogged everyday.  I really enjoyed the outlet and the comments that I received.  Now however, I realize that I could "blog" daily, if I let myself!  But I keep remembering the saying "put air between you and the chair", meaning get off your butt and go out and meet clients.  OK,,,OK,,,I'm going!

Hi Nancy.  I do think you have to get out and meet clients but...

This is fun and helps me relieve stress.  Plus I love the points.

Keep rocking,

Ken

Hey Nancy, First, welcome to AR. I feel that this site is what you make off it and I find that you can take a lot from AR. Everyday there is just some much knowledge being written for everyone to absorb and everyone is please to share that knowledge. I too, have run across that "competitive" agent who does not want anything to do with new agents and I have come to find that I really don't need that negative vibe in my career. Take in the Rain and run with it. All my best, Jim

Hi Nancy and welcome to the Rain!  You get what you give here - and most members give soooo much!  There is more knowledge in this network than I have come across in all my time in real estate.  If you are looking to be the best you can be, you have come to the right place.  Enjoy!

Nancy welcome to AR! You are going to find a wealth of information from tons of people who are willing to share! One of the best benefits of this site is to increase your online visability. AR has tremendous juice in the search engines. Concentrate on adding material to Localism and you will do very well :)

Hello Nancy, welcome to Active Rain. I'm fairly new myself and like sometimes I can't believe how giving Active Rainers are. I've learned more about tech in a few months then I did in 5 years. Looking forward to reading your posts.
