Historic Alexandria Homes Tour

Old Town Alexandria The 72^nd annual Historic Alexandria Homes Tour will take place on Saturday, September 28^th, 2013. There will be six homes featured on the tour this year. All were built between the 18^th and 20^th centuries. This year the tour will also feature the newly restored 99 year old Alexandria Theatre. All of the homes and the Theatre will be open from 10am to 3pm.

Tickets for the event are $35 in advance and $40 on tour day. All of the proceeds will support the Inova Alexandria TWIG Surgical Center. The TWIG is the Junior Auxiliary of Inova Alexandria Hospital, an organization of women dedicated to providing financial aid, volunteer service, and support to Alexandria Hospital.

Good morning Amanda S. Davidson. I'm sure the Historic Alexandria Homes Tour will be a huge success. I should know but I don't know if our area has a Historical Home tour. If not they should we too have many beautiful old homes that would certainly draw a crowd.

I would love to be on that tour! Those historic homes have such unique character and charm and I always think about the era in which it was built and what was going on in history at the time. To withstand so many wars, weather conditions, and people who lived there is pretty amazing! Preservation and maintenance is the the way to ensure historic homes for our future too!

WOW! What a great event. Whenever I travel, I research for the oldest sections/homes/museums to visit. Older homes have so much character, took a lot longer to construct, just amazing! Hope you'll have a chance to attend.
