Exemplifying a rustic beauty right out of the Old West, and found in Arizona’s “Valley of the Sun,” real estate in Scottsdale is among the best in the country. Its beauty, thriving cultural scene, and warm weather, have recognized Scottsdale as one of the top 50 cities in the United States. Bloomberg Business week called it next-door neighbor Phoenix’s "richer, safer sister."

Ranked tenth in a list of the best-run cities in the nation, its transportation system includes a bus system and several free trolley routes. If you need to leave the area, one can use Route Loop 101 or the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The community also has a strong dedication to education. Two Scottsdale libraries, the Civic Center and Mustang libraries, have received national recognition for their support of early learning and parental involvement and were named “Family Place Libraries.” Scottsdale’s charm and climate bring people from around the world to its many upscale attractions.

By buying a home in Scottsdale, one can reap the benefits of a large tourist trade. This is especially true if one is interested in a career in the hospitality industry, which is Scottsdale’s largest employment sector. For those in need of an outdoor fix, there are trails for both hiking and horseback riding. One popular trail is the Tonto National Forest, which possesses both footpaths and horseback trails. Scottsdale is also home to the 27,800-acre McDowell Sonoran Preserve for those seeking a view of Southwestern flora and fauna. The Scottsdale Green Belt awaits those seeking a less austerely beautiful landscape.

Among its many attractions, Scottsdale is noted for being a golfer’s paradise. One might expect that in a city with at least one annual PGA stop. Even if you are not a professional, the more than 200 days of sunshine will give you plenty of time to practice at any of the world-class golf courses, such as the Boulders Golf Club, Legend Trail Golf Club, or Whisper Rock. Baseball fans also flock to Scottsdale before and during every season. The spring training center for the San Francisco Giants is located in Scottsdale Stadium. This site, named “Best Spring Training Venue” by AZCentral, is also home to the Arizona Fall League’s Scottsdale Scorpions.

If the weather gets too warm for you, there are a host of indoor activities for residents, whether single, married (with or without children), and senior citizens. A personal favorite of many in the area is El Pedregal. An upscale shopping center offering high-quality merchandise and dining, El Pedregal also offers free events to the public most Sundays. Scottsdale homes give you more than just beautiful scenery, present workers with economic opportunities, and bring you within reach of world-class food, cultural establishments, and more. Its range of institutions has led the city to earn a number of awards and recognitions, including being named Livilbility.com’s most romantic U.S. city.

The city is also home to a vibrant theatre and art scene. The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and the smaller, but still highly regarded, Desert Stages Theatre are the perfect places to see Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, or the latest Broadway show’s national tour. AmericanStyle Magazine listed Scottsdale in its Top 25 U.S. Arts Destinations, with its annual Scottsdale Arts Festival and the weekly ArtWalk drawing large crowds from near and far. For those seeking an educational outing, Scottsdale is also the location of Taliesin West, the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home for many years and is now a museum. Another popular location with locals is the Adelante art gallery and store.

Whether you are looking for a new home for your family, a warm place to retire, or to move to one of the Southwest’s best places for singles, you should take a closer look at real estate in Scottsdale. It will be worth the time.
