When Do Fall Leaves Peak In New Mexico?
Weather in New Mexico varies due to altitude so the fall leaves change and peak at different times in our state.
In Northern New Mexico the leaves normally peak the first of October. In and around the Albuquerque area we enjoy fall peaking color from the second and third week of October. For Southern Albuquerque down around Carlsbad that area of NM normally see’s fall peak color the end of October into the first of November.
You can always call the NM National Forest Service if you are wanting to enjoy NM during the peak season this Fall. They are great about offering information on which area and trails are in full Fall color.
