Best Plants For Inside You Home

Bringing plants inside the home not only brightens up the space but can make your pad smell wonderful!  They look great and really ad a nice touch to any room.  But, how long do yours typically last?  A lot of people tend to have a hard time keeping indoor plants alive and thriving.  Below you will find a list of some great plants that are specifically house friendly.

Bromeliad

The bromeliad is said to last a long time.  Points there right?!  Apparently it operates similarly like a pineapple.  Experts say that the plant produces pups or side shoots that will replace the original plant.  Its best to keep it at around 70 degrees.

Cast-iron plant

The cast-iron plant is just that.  The sturdy stunner does just fine in low light, poor-quality soil, spotty watering, and a wide range of temperatures.

Jade plant

This is an easy-going plant that is good at retaining water.  It’s that simple.

Prayer plant

This plant really looks like it is praying.  The leaves fold up giving it a neat holistic look.  When it comes to maintenance, this one likes to live in moist soil.

Kalanchoe

This plant is said to require very little care.  It grows colorful flowers and retains water well. It does just fine in plenty of weather temperatures, even at 45-degrees!

Ponytail palm

A window with sun is good for this plant.  The slow-growing ponytail palm doesn’t like to be over watered.  It’s stems work off its reserves.

Phalaenopsis orchid

This plant does well in low light.  It comes from tropical Asian countries like the Philippines and does nicely in humid areas.

Philodendron

This one is low maintenance.  It really only needs water like once a week and does just fine in low light.  The philodendron grows in the West Indies, Mexico, and Brazil.

Crown of thorns

This plant is a native to Madagascar.  It’s quite easy going too. It doesn’t need too much water just like the one mentioned above.

Having indoor plants helps clean the air.  Some people think silk plants are enough.  However, there's something to be said for having the real thing!  Silk plants don't produce oxygen.
