HOW TO BUILD A BRICK FIRE PIT
A good edition to your home is a new cozy fire pit the sit around with your friends when you barbecue, and have parties. It can be a big job to complete, but these step by step instructions can make it alot easier for you. Simply follow these direcions on how to build a brick fire pit and you will be finished in no time.
1. Lay a chalk line to mark the location of the firepit & have gas line & drain installed
2. Lay the first layer of bricks all the way around following the chalk line
3. Lay the second course of bricks
4. Stair step bricks on opposing sides
5. Finish the other walls
6. Add cinderblocks to the inside and top with bricks. This will form part of the
support for the bowl shaped floor for the water to drain.
7. Cap with bricks on top
8. Pile scraps in the pit along with mortar. Make sure to slope mortar from
sides toward center for drain
9. Complete by filling in with mortar and again, make sure to slope the sides
toward the center for draining purposes.
10. Later add a blue-stone veneer to give it a finishing touch.
