Home renovation tips – easy ways to spruce up your home

Changing the look and feel of your home doesn’t have to mean hiring a contractor. There are several home improvement projects you can do on your own, or with a couple of friends. Here are a couple of home improvement ideas that won’t cost a lot, and will give your home a great new look and feel.

  • Add a backsplash to your kitchen. You can give your kitchen a new look by adding a backsplash – whether with ceramic tiles or mosaic glass tiles. A backsplash can be easily installed, protect your walls from food splatters, and will look great!
  • Update knobs and handles. Changing the knobs and handles on your doors and cabinets throughout your home will instantly give a room a new look and feel.
  • Introduce some new artwork to your walls. Liven up the walls with some new artwork and décor.
  • Wallpaper cabinets. This is exceptionally for cabinets with glass doors. You can give a cabinet a whole new look by installing wallpaper to the back wall of your cabinets.
  • Change the paint and/or wallpaper throughout a room – or several rooms. The décor and look of the room will completely change simply with a new coat of paint.
  • Install new molding. Try staining new molding with an oak or pine stain, and replace your old molding. If the molding in your home is currently painted, it will give a room a fresh, new look.
  • Change the laminate flooring. Changing out carpeting is of course much more difficult – installing hardwood flooring can be tricky as well. Laminate flooring comes in easy-to-use squares, that can be cut to shape and installed simply over existing flooring in your kitchen or bathroom.
