Its Saturday and Fans everywhere are glued to their TV when their team plays. Today was no exception when the LSU v. Georgia game hit the air waves at 2:30 pm. Here in Southwest Louisiana most residents bleed LSU purple and gold!
Before the LSu game began, I received a call about my new listing 498 Hardwood in Moss Bluff, LA. The caller wanted to go and view it and when I gave the option of a time I could show it later at 6pm, the interested Buyer said "oh I don't know if the game will be over by then"! Yes just about everything stops when the LSU Tigers play.
Case in point, I had a final walk through scheduled for today on a home that is closing Monday. The Seller was moving out today and would only allow us to view between 6-6:30 today. So the buyers and I arrived at the house about 6:15. Meanwhile LSU was in the last 5 minutes of a close game with Georgia. I put the key in the door and opened it to hear the football game on, the mounted TV in the living room above the fireplace(which is remaining with the house) had the game on. There we were all just standing in front of the TV to watch the last seconds of the game--no one was interested to see if the broken window had been repaired, or the wall painted! The buyers had brought all their family with them, 2 sets of parents and 2 aunts to see the house they are buying. There we all were gathered in the den all eyes on the TV. It was a somber ending as we all watched LSU lose
Soon the excitement of the Buyers home purchase quickly removed the football blues as we walked through the house then we met the Seller coming back for his next load of furniture and got a rundown of some of the details of the home!
Real estate is challenging during Football season, depending on the Saturday games day lineup, Saturdays are tailgating and/or coach days at home. That goes for Sunday too especially with NFL football!!! Heaven forbid you plan an Open House when the New Orleans Saints are playing!
